Summary: John isn’t the most eloquent of men.
Why read it: I don’t know if I can tell you how beautiful this fic is. John’s voice here is absolutely perfect, and I adore the way the format moves through his and Sherlock’s entire life together. All of the word choices are phenomenal and the touches of humor are amazing and the emotions are heart-rending and I just LOVE. THIS. FIC. SO. MUCH.

Summary: Written for the prompt:
There’s a case at a secondary school/University, some series of threats or string of bizarre murders that has the entire campus shaken. In the course of the investigation, Sherlock and John meet two students. One is well liked if not popular, athletic, intelligent without showing off, involved only because they were close to a victim or witnessed something important. The other is a loner with no regard for social norms, an insufferable genius, always in the chem lab, and involved because everyone, including teachers/professors, think they’re behind everything.
Sherlock and John are responsible for these two meeting. And, because they both want to help with the investigation, they get to watch them become friends and fall a little in love. And that makes them feel things about themselves that they’ve been working very hard to not feel, thank you.
Why read it: I know you’ve got things to do — I do too — but once you start reading this fic be prepared to look out your window some time later and see the sunrise. The horrible, judgmental sunrise that always informs you of your poor life choices.
Then be prepared to not give a fuck because you’ve just read an awesome fic probably didn’t want to write that paper anyway.

Summary: It’s never felt like this before, like wanting to say, “I’d rather not, but if you wanted, I’d get on my knees for you.” Because John is a dom, and Sherlock is a dom, and John wants him anyways. Except, one of these things is not quite true.
Why read it: This was an interesting verse to read. In an AU in which everyone is either submissive or Dominant, Sherlock has difficulties forming relationships with anyone. Most people assume he’s a Dom, and he’s constantly being hit on by either subs or switches.
Unfortunately, forming a relationship with a Dom has always involved putting his personal life before his cases, which is something that Sherlock is just not willing to do.
Notes: This fic has two prequels, You Need Someone (But It Wont Be Me) and It’s Easy To Trust Someone Who Can’t Break You. Both of these are Lestrade/Sherlock, although the second deals more with Sherlock and John’s progressing relationship. I would really encourage everyone to read these before reading the final fic.
This verse was found for the request: “haven’t read any good BDSM fic lately. Dear Jumper & Scarf, please will you fix it for me to give me some good porn to read” There’s not much porn, dear, but I hope it helps.

Summary: Sorcerer!Sherlock sets out to trap himself a pet dragon. Said dragon turns out to be far more interesting than he initially anticipated.
Why read it: Cause John Watson is a motherfucking dragon!!! As far as I’m concerned, that’s head canon. Come on, it makes sense. We always knew he was part reptile anyway.
I just love the way this author portrays John as completely not human, but still the John we know and love. Except carnivorous.
Notes: This fic has a lot of warnings attached to it, so be sure to read them all. Personally though, I didn’t find it as dark as the the warnings indicate it would be. It was actually humorous at times. Let me stress however, that that’s my PERSONAL opinion.

Summary: On 1st January, 1920, John Watson meets Sherlock Holmes.
There is a crater in the middle of Europe, and John Watson had been pulled out of it alive.
Why read it: JAZZ AGE AU!!!
I can not tell you how much I love the idea of Sherlock in the 20’s. The author does an amazing job keeping the fic remarkably similar to the show, while still managing to avoid any anachronisms that might be tempted to sneak in. Oh, and her depiction of Sherlock playing the violin?
I could read that for-fucking-ever.

Summary: Sleeping together and sleeping together are not the same thing at all.
Why read it: Hello, followers! Are you ready for the beloved fanfic trope of two men, one hotel bed?
Oh yes you are! Too bad the bed-sharing is entirely platonic… at first.
Honestly, you can’t claim to be a true fangirl until you’ve read at least nine “for some reason we are forced to sleep in the same bed/soft piece of ground/whatever” fics. It’s just a rite of passage.
