Friday: Fanart and a Fic
Word count: 14,500
Summary: Sherlock dons an unusual disguise for a case. John is…conflicted.
Why read it: Sherlock wears a priest uniform. Do you need me to repeat that? SHERLOCK. WEARS. A. CASSOCK.
If that doesn’t do it for you, the wonderful characterization and mystery most certainly will.
Word count: 5,590
Summary: There are three mysteries to living with Sherlock Holmes.
Why read it: We haven’t quite enough BAMF!John here recently, which is truly surprising as it’s pretty much the only thing Scarf and I both like in fic. Hopefully this fic will make up for such an appalling lack of kickass Watson. Also, the third mystery will make you squee!
Rating: Mostly PG-13 until the NC-17 extra
Word count: 12,298
Summary: Sherlock Holmes has a boyfriend who lives in Canada.
Why read it: This fic got me trapped in the world of WIP Hell. Any fic worth enduring that torment is worth reading. Also, the pure amount of concentrated Canada in this fic is amazing.
Notes: Yes, we know we recced a “John is Sherlock’s Canadian boyfriend” fic before, but it turns out there’s two of them. Who knew?
Author: Eleanor K
Summary: A retelling of Hound of Baskervilles in which John is Sherlock and Mycroft’s nanny.
Why read it: This fic is just wonderful in so many ways. There’s gratuitous BAMF!John as well as BAMF!Lestrade, wonderfully well-developed plot, fantastic characterization, and some heartwarming moments from kid!Sherlock. I really can’t recommend it enough.
Notes: There’s also a sequel: Snowflakes (Like Dust in the Sun)
Word count: 16,400
Summary: “John, we need to get married.”
Why read it: Oh. My. Lord. I have so much love for this fic that I can barely restrain myself from pressing capslock. I can barely put words together to describe this absolute perfection. It’s like Gatiss himself decided, “Whelp, I’m gonna write some fanfiction today.”
Read it. Just read it.
